My book has been out for more than a year now, and it’s been a roller coaster of emotional highs and lows for me. The one constant that has made my journey rewarding is you.

When I sought an agent, I was told repeatedly there were “too few people interested in both the paranormal and spirituality” to make it worthwhile for someone to represent me. I concede that my audience is not nearly as large as a mainstream genre, but I’ve found you all to be genuine, caring people who seek to be understood, want to connect with your loved ones across the veil and face your challenges with dignity, love and faith.

A handful of times I’ve been tempted to give up and resume a normal life, one where I don’t have writing or marketing chores to do after work and on weekends.  It’s at those times when I receive an encouraging Facebook message or email from you, and it’s clear to me that what I’m doing matters. And, in the end, that’s why I’d put myself out there and wrote A Reluctant Spirit.

Gratitude can get lost in the frantic routine of life. But this Thanksgiving week, I want you to know how grateful I am to you. For spending your valuable time reading my posts. For your thoughtful replies (even if you disagree). For attending my presentations. And, for sharing my book with others (I’m blessed to have my book be the one you lend to your friends and family). It’s clear to me that you are integral to keeping me on the path I’m supposed to tread.

Happy Thanksgiving!
