If you’ve had a loved one worried about your spiritual salvation because you’re a paranormal investigator, take heart: they love you. And love is never bad. But how do you address their concerns (if you choose to)? Here’s what I’ve learned over the years from studying the Bible and my experiences with ghosts.

The New Testament says to “test every spirit.” So there must be both good and bad energies.

Both First Thessalonians, chapter five and 1 John, chapter four, discuss the importance of testing spirits to see whether they are positive or negative. If we are meant to test energies, then it follows that we’re not supposed to ignore them. These verses provide encouragement, while cautioning us to use discernment and prayer, so that we don’t entertain the Dark Side.

Isaiah 8:19 doesn’t say that psychic abilities are bad

When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living!”

I believe this passage, that many use to support their belief that ESP is bad, makes two points:

  1. We are meant to seek answers ourselves rather than through a medium, and those answers can come from God, angels and other heavenly emissaries.
  2. If we seek out what our future holds, we are demonstrating a lack of faith in the Great I Am.

The Holy Spirit (or what some call the Universal Energy) infuses us with a shared energy that gives us our intuitive skills. Prophets throughout Biblical times received heavenly direction, guidance we still need today.

Everything is a balance between good and bad, light and dark. And, the Bible wants us to be careful because evil exists. But so does good. We just have to exercise wisdom when interacting with unseen energies.

Paranormal investigating has enriched my spirituality and Christianity by leading me to:

  • Realize God’s vastness across multiple realms,
  • Gain a glimpse into the afterlife (heaven and hell),
  • Experience God’s unconditional love and
  • Rid myself of fear-based spiritual beliefs.

Jesus said, “A house divided cannot stand.” Through interacting with spirits, I have grown closer to the Great I Am. And, certainly Satan would be at odds with that.
