We are a part of Creation, not separate from it

We are deeply connected to humanity, animals and the planet. We are so dependent on Creation that we can’t stand alone without feeling that something is missing. Once we truly understand the unity of all, we feel a wholeness we hadn’t before. This leads to a rearrangement of our priorities.

We no longer view life as a competition. Instead, we see it as a collaboration.

Our existence depends on Creation
Think about our physical ties to the Earth and its inhabitants. At least four percent of our bodies are comprised of minerals. Minerals are the building blocks of the world. Calcium, the most abundant mineral in our bodies, can be found in rocks, the Earth’s crust, seashells and animal bones. Phosphorus, which makes up one percent of our body weight, is also present in water and soil. It’s essential to all life. Trees emit oxygen and absorb pollutants, enriching the air we breathe. To survive, we drink water and eat plants and animals.

All Creation generates energy. The Earth generates energy through its inner heat, releasing it through hot springs and volcanoes. Rushing rivers generate electricity, as do lightning storms. Animals, humans, and insects generate energy through consuming food.

We are a part of nature, not separate from it. We share the same building blocks as all life does.  We are interwoven with the very fabric of physical existence.

Humans are meant to get out into the wilds. Numerous scientific studies show that when we spend time in a forest, it calms our nervous system and boosts our immune system. It also reduces our blood pressure, heart rate and stress hormones. *

We share a spiritual connection with Earth’s every facet
Energetically, physically and spiritually, we are related to all. The hulking bison, tenacious salmon, towering redwood and the industrious bee are our distant cousins. To think we are superior to them is a mistaken assumption. We are not better than them because we have opposable thumbs and a different kind of intellect. With our God-given gifts, we have been granted the responsibility to honor and support all Creation.

We benefit from understanding that as a part of the whole, we must uplift all. Humans were never meant to be the dictators over Creation. With everything so intertwined, when we hurt one, we hurt all.

Let’s actively raise the world’s energy. Let’s practice love in the face of societal and physical challenges. Let’s support the well-being of all that the Great I Am has created. It’s within our grasp to be good stewards of the land, to be kind to one another, and to ensure wildlife has what they need to thrive.

We cannot truly love God—the source of unconditional love—when we trample on each other and the sacred landscapes and creations the Most Loving brought into existence.
